Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 25, 2026
ChalKak Calendar ("we") establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy in accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea, in order to protect the personal information of data subjects and to handle related concerns promptly.
Summary — Recognized events and analysis history are stored only on your device. They are not sent to or stored on any ChalKak Calendar server, and no account or sign-up is required. However, to read the event details from a booking screenshot, that image is sent to Google's AI analysis service. It is processed only for as long as the request needs, and is never used to train Google's AI models. See Sections 3 and 4 for details.
1. Purpose of Processing Personal Information
We process personal information for the following purposes. Processed information is not used for purposes other than those below, and if the purpose changes we will take necessary measures such as obtaining separate consent under Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
- Providing the service
- Providing the AI analysis feature that recognizes event details from images you select
- Serving personalized advertising and marketing
2. Categories of Personal Information Processed
- Service usage records, access logs, cookies, access IP address, advertising identifier (IDFA), device information, approximate location
- Images you select for analysis (such as booking screenshots) and the event details recognized from them
- Information automatically collected via the Firebase SDK (Google) to improve app quality: app usage events (Analytics), crash logs and device state (Crashlytics), device model, and OS version. This information is not used to identify individuals and is processed in accordance with Google's privacy policy.
3. How the AI Analysis Feature Processes Your Data
The core feature of ChalKak Calendar is recognizing event details from booking screenshots you choose. It works as follows.
- Only the images you request to analyze are sent to Google's AI analysis service (Gemini API). Photos you do not select are never sent.
- A transmitted image is processed only for as long as necessary to service that request, and ChalKak Calendar does not store it on any server of ours.
- Transmitted images and their results are not used to train or improve Google's AI models (Google paid services terms apply).
- Google may, however, retain request records for a limited period solely to detect and prevent violations of its policies.
- Recognized event details and analysis history are stored only on your device and are deleted when you delete the app.
4. Cross-Border Transfer of Personal Information
To provide the AI analysis feature, we transfer personal information overseas as follows.
| Recipient | Google LLC |
|---|---|
| Country of transfer | The United States and other countries where Google operates data centers |
| Time and method | Transmitted over the network at the moment you request image analysis in the app |

| Purpose | Recognizing event details contained in the image (title, date and time, venue, etc.) |
| Retention and use period | For as long as the request needs. Google may retain request records for a limited period solely to detect policy violations. |
You may refuse the cross-border transfer of your personal information. In that case the AI analysis feature cannot be used, while other features remain available.
5. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
We provide personal information to third parties as follows, in order to serve advertising.
- Recipient: Google (AdMob)
- Purpose: Serving personalized advertising and measuring ad performance

6. Rights of Data Subjects and How to Exercise Them
You may at any time exercise your rights to request access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing of your personal information. You may also opt out of personalized advertising by disabling ad personalization in your device's operating system settings.
Consent to the AI analysis feature can be withdrawn at any time from the app's settings screen, after which no further images will be transmitted.
7. Destruction of Personal Information
When personal information becomes unnecessary — for example because the retention period has elapsed or the purpose of processing has been achieved — we destroy it without delay. If you delete the app, the information collected, including event details and analysis history stored on your device, is destroyed immediately.
8. Measures to Ensure Security
We take technical and administrative measures to ensure the security of personal information. Images transmitted for AI analysis are protected in transit by encrypted communication (HTTPS).
